Edinburgh is a beautiful city that has a lot of places to visit. It is a classic mix of the modern and the historical. It serves as the summit where the castles built ages ago are found amidst state of the art multiplexes and shopping malls. Its sprawling landscape is dotted with numerous tourist attractions.
It is hard not to be awed by the sheer number of attractions to visit. On the bright side of things, these places are located close to each other. This means that you can visit them in a short span of time.
Let us begin with Edinburgh castle. It is one of the oldest sites in the city. Camera Obscura and Royal Yacht Britannia are some of the best places to visit. The capital city is an extremely green space where you can find vast parks and wide open spaces with splendid views. You can enjoy the city with an outdoor trip once in a while especially in summer nights!
Gullane and Yellow Craigs are two great places where you can enjoy a cool beach walk. Union canal, the Scottish mining museum and the Seabird Centre are some of the coolest places to visit if you happen to be in Edinburgh. Further there are a host of wonderful restaurants around the city where you can enjoy every possible cuisine that you can imagine!
Coming into the modern part of the city, Princess Street is a great place to begin your shopping. It is a mile long street that could be considered a shopping paradise. You can find many retail outlets offering branded goods, including Harvey Nichols and Jenners!
Several gardens are present in Princess Street and offer a quaint location that is situated amidst the busy centre. The garden also prides itself of having some of the most breathtaking views of the famous Edinburgh castle.
Arthur's seat is a volcano in the city that offers a unique view across Edinburgh if you dare to climb to the top. Along with many other volcanoes this forms an umbrella around the city! They are extinct volcanoes and thus do not pose any threat to the city!
Travelling through the city can be tedious if you are planning to make use of the public transportation system as routes vary and are often delayed by numerous drop-off points.
Private hire taxi services are a suitable alternative, and much cheaper than traditional Black Cabs. If you are planning for a short stay in the city, you can visit all the must visit places without spending too much money with the help of a private car hire service!

City Tips - 3 Cities to Visit During Your Stay in Scotland
Scotland is a fascinating country. The landscape of the Scottish highlands is very unique and I quite enjoyed staying in Scotland.
But there were some cities that I enjoyed most while traveling through Scotland. So let me tell you my 3 favorite cities that you definitely have to visit on your Scotland trip.
Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland and one of the biggest cities in Scotland. It is full of old buildings and it's a great place to see. The castle in the middle of Edinburgh is worth visiting while staying in Edinburgh.
Not only are there lots of old buildings but the atmosphere is great. It's just an exciting place. And if you are looking for some places to drink and to party then there are lots of them, Edinburgh alone has around 700 pubs.
Pitlochry is a rather small town which is surrounded by mountains. It's situated between Inverness and Perth. It's not really big but there are a lot of things to see. You can go visit the nearby Queen's View from which you have an amazing view over the Scottish landscape. But you can also stay within the town and take a look at the dam where you can see salmons jumping up the river.
If you go to Pitlochry then be sure to also visit the Moulin Inn, a 300 year old pub (it is about 1 mile to the north of Pitlochry).
I also enjoyed staying in Inverness, it's also called the capital of the Highlands. It's one of the bigger cities in Scotland and has a river running through it. You can take some nice walks along the river. You can also always follow the river to the harbor where you can take a boat tour to see some wildlife such as dolphins (it's a special sort of dolphin).
As always if you visit Inverness then be sure to stop by some pubs.
Scotland is a great country and you could miss out on a lot of opportunities if you don't have the right kind of information. We have a website solely dedicated to tips for traveling Scotland. We would love if you go check it out!
We also offer a wealth of information on how to plan your Scotland trip. If you want to know more about the right kind of equipment for Scotland you need for traveling there then feel free to visit our web site.

Which Route to Take Through Scotland
Scotland is a fascinating country with lots of things to offer. The landscape is very unique and also the people are great. My friend and I recently traveled Scotland and were amazed by it.
We started in Edinburgh. We flew from Germany to Edinburgh, Scotland. Once we arrived we quickly took a bus to the city of Edinburgh. In Edinburgh we went to the our hostel which we had booked a day earlier.
We didn't really have any plans where we would go. We just had a rough idea where we wanted to go. We wanted to head up the west coast of Scotland.
Luckily we met some people in our hostel who wanted to go to the West too. They planned on renting a car and so we decided to go with them. On our next day we went to Glasgow and rented a car there.
During that day we went up the West coast passing Loch Lommond, Fort William and eventually arriving at the Isle of Skye. The island itself is beautiful and you definitely have to visit it.
On the next day we decided to drive around the Isle and visit various places. We went to Dunvegan Castle, stayed at a coral beach and visited a distillery. It's was lots of fun. Unfortunately our friends had to move on and so we stayed in Isle of Skye and they once again headed to the South.
The following day we took the bus from Ilse of Skye to Inverness, which is also called the capital of the Highlands. It was a beautiful day and we arrived early in Inverness. Therefore we had lots of time to see the town.
After that we decided to go to Pitlochry, it's on the way from Inverness to Perth, since it was supposed to be a nice little town. And it indeed was. We visited lots of places there such as the old Moulin Inn and Queen's View. It's a great place to visit.
On our last day we drove back to Edinburgh by bus and caught the plane back to Germany.
I have to say that it was a great trip and there was so much that we learned and experienced. I hope this gave you some ideas as to where you can travel and what is worth visiting.

The 7 Day Scotland Trip of Our Life
A few weeks ago my friend and I set off to travel Scotland. We really didn't plan a lot, all we did was to book our flight and reserve the hostel for the first night. After that we would go from there.
On a Monday we flew from Germany to Edinburgh, Scotland. When we arrived we had the typical Scottish rain weather. We took a bus from the airport to the city and quickly checked in to our hostel.
Then we decided on how we were going to travel. We really didn't have any plans all we knew was that we wanted to go up the west coast of Scotland and maybe stay on an island there and then to come back down to Edinburgh and travel parts of the east coast.
That was our plan. That night we met some people, and one of them offered us the chance to drive up to the west coast with them by car. So we agreed and left to travel to Isle of Skye on Wednesday morning.
Eventually after driving for a while, probably around 4-5 hours, we ended up on the Isle of Skye. We found a hostel in Broadford and stayed there for the night.
The next day we drove by car through the rest on Isle of Skye (it's really worth seeing). On the evening the people who had rented the car with us drove on and we stayed another night at Isle of Skye.
The next morning we got up early and took the bus to Inverness which is somewhat on the east coast but in a rather central place. From there we moved on to Pitlochry which is a small town between Inverness and Perth.
After visiting some things there we took the bus back to Edinburgh where we just stayed for the night because our flight was going to leave early in the morning.

3 Tips for Traveling Scotland
Scotland is a great place to visit. There are so many people drawn there each year. One of the reasons is probably because of the great landscape.
No matter why you want to go to Scotland there are a few things that you should think about going there.
My friend and I went to Scotland at the end of March till the beginning of April. It was a good time to travel Scotland since there aren't too many tourists around.
If you don't care about your money then go ahead and travel in the summer. That's when traveling Scotland is the most expensive.
Keep in mind that whenever you travel off season in a country it's much less crowded and you can focus more on the things you want to see.
The weather in Scotland is unpredictable. When we first arrived in Scotland it was raining all day, the typical Scottish weather. But it's strange how it changes so quickly. You can basically through all different seasons within a single day.
On our trip we went to see a beach nearby. On our way from the parking lot to the beach the weather was nice with the sun shining. Half an hour later we were on our way back to the car and that's when it started raining. So remember the weather can change extremely quickly.
At the beginning of our trip we drove to some places by car. But afterwards we moved through the country by bus.
I personally haven't made any bad experience with using buses in Scotland at all. They were usually on time and arrived when they were supposed to. But what you have to keep in mind is that booking buses a few days before can save you lots of money.
On the first few days we wanted to go to Glasgow by bus to rent a car there. So we went to the bus station and bought our tickets. Then we lined up in the queue to get in the bus. The guy in front of us realized that we had just bought the tickets and turned to us and asked "How much did you guys pay for the ticket?" We told him that we payed 6-7 pounds and that's when he started smiling. He then showed us his receipt: he had payed one pound.
Therefore always buy the bus tickets two days earlier to get the cheap prices.
